As I title this, I have to acknowledge that the only reason I know what I want from any type of business opportunity is because I have been a part of so many. I have always been a part of a strong sales force. I have always been in connection with the people in upper-level management who depend on items or services being sold. I know what producers look like, feel like, smell like, and taste like. There are many reasons (I won’t go into here) why I always desired to work from home. I have ventured into countless work from home opportunities. Many of them were disappointments. The real point is that because I feverishly searched and took action so many times, I can just about pinpoint the ones that aren’t worth my time right away.
The more accurately your ability to formulate what is necessary (as well as what is flexible), the better your chances of not being sold something that will not be lucrative for you. I cannot stress that enough. I’m planning to go into for of the most important aspects of your checklist, so to speak, before you “wreck” list. I will be breaking these down into more detail as time progresses because there is so much to be mentioned in these areas when you’re taking a life decision – because in essence that is really what you are making when you dive into this arena.
1. How much time are you willing to commit to – Time is really a factor that many don’t realistically consider when searching for a chance to work from home. Everybody wants to find a business they can do in their free time and make a bankroll. How ridiculous does that sound? As insane a notion that it is, it’s what everybody wants! Think about all the ads that you see… and they get your attention because deep down that’s what you want. It is unrealistic and it does not happen that way. You need to find out all the particulars in what it’s going to take to get your business started. (*This may not be an easy task if you have not yet committed to the program. You have to find a way to connect with people who have started the program and failed, people who have started the program and left, and people who have been in the program and succeeded! The internet has always been my best bet. You will find as many advertisements for “scam” as you find for the actual business these days. Forums are also very helpful so that you can find actual people staying their concerns, a opposed to advertisements.) Only you can determine how much time you will put into your new venture, but it should definitely be pre-determined. If you can’t plan to set aside at least 4 hours a day for the first 90 days, you should probably reconsider investing. On the other hand, if you feel like you weren’t able to grasp enough information to determine how much time is needed, you should not invest.
2. How much money are you willing to commit to -This will most like be a separate entry alone. For now I’m going to say this: whatever the initial cost is to join, be aware that that is merely a marketing strategy. You have really think like a business owner. Think: if i want sometime to join my organization, how can I make it must attractive to that one?
3. What do you want to sell – If you want to work from home/be a business owner, you have to sell something. You have to make decision to either
A. learn how to sell something
B. hire people who know how to sell something
C. have the ability to create so much attention that you can’t help but sell something because people buy stuff!
Do you want to sell a product or a service. Do you want to sell something tangible or do you want to sell an idea. What’s involved with selling a product: inventory, shipping, and customer satisfaction are some of the things to consider. Also when you’re selling a product you consider income. You only get paid one time when you sell a product, that’s WHEN you sell that product. Many things can determine whether you have a repeat customer or not.
When you’re selling a service, you eel most likely make bigger commissions, or tap into residual income (meaning every time your customer pays for their service you get paid). These are a couple of aspects to think about when deciding what you want to sell.
What are you really expecting from this work from home opportunity (most important) – In short, a work from home opportunity is not going to change your life. Only you can change your life. Your new “coach” or “sponsor” does not know what it takes to get your life in order. If you are struggling with issues in your life and you don’t identify and take care of those issues you will not succeed. Many like to the word scam around, and I can’t say that I don’t use it to my advantage… but the only real scam is people telling themselves that a beautiful life comes falling out of the sky and that bliss comes with money. You don’t have to search for the key to wealth, it is inside you. Look for a work from home opportunity that brings out the best in you, and take care of your business at home before you try to run a business at home.
